Hearts remind us of God’s love

(Based on the Church of England Family Activities Advent Calendar)

At the heart of Christmas, is the revealing of God’s love. And hearts, remind us of love.

Read Colossians 2:2-3 (The Message)

‘I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown the mystery!’  

There's a saying 'running on empty' to describe getting to the end of all our resources. Have you ever felt like you have run out of resources, it could be spiritual - love, joy, patience?  When you start an embroidery, normally for beginners, you start with a piece of fabric with lots of tiny holes in it which you fill in with the different coloured threads you sew in. One of the ways God's love is life-giving is that it can fill up our emptiness.
